Wednesday Night Educational Series

Wednesday Night Educational Series classes are for participants ages 15-24. Each series meets at STRIVE from 6-8pm and is 3-8 weeks long. The total cost for a 3-4 week series is $20 and the total cost for a 6-8 week series is $30.”


Current Session: January 11th to January 25th: Civic Duty

This series focuses on becoming an informed voter, a good citizen, and protectos of the earth. Special guests include the Local Warden, South Portland Police Department, and EcoMaine.


Upcoming Session: February 8th to March 29th: Transitioning to Independent Living

This special 2 month series helps provide teens and young adults with the basics skills that come with living independently. Highlights include: intro to independent living from STRIVE Transition Specialist, meal planning, cleaning basics and personal care, intro to guardianship, and Self-Defense with Prevention. Action. Change. Cost of the class is $30


Class Registration Information

Prior to each class series every student and guardian will fill out a registration form which will include a syllabus and emergency contact information forms which are to be returned before the student starts the series.

Series are generally limited to 15 students and the course fee is $20.

Each student should come to class prepared with assigned materials and be ready to engage in class discussions.
