Bayside participants may also receive the opportunity to have home support in conjunction while attending Bayside. This allows them to practice the independent living skills that they learn at Bayside in their own home.

Bayside is a unique community supports program dedicated to expanding independent living skills and community connections for people with intellectual disabilities. The goal of the program is to work with participants over a two year period to expand their abilities to live a more independent life.

We are located in a 3-bedroom apartment in Portland’s Back Bay Towers. We use the apartment and surrounding community to work on independent living skills, and learn how to navigate and access the community.

Bayside is a two year long program that has two daily sessions that run from 9:00am –1:00pm and 1:00pm to 5:00pm, 5 days a week, Monday through Friday.

Each week participants work on grocery shopping, cooking, banking, cleaning, navigating the community, exercise, volunteering, budgeting, menu planning, social skills and more.

Space is limited to 8 participants per session, we have rolling admissions and are always accepting applications.
