Students
Activities:
All students at STRIVE U actively participate in program governance
through their participation in Residence Hall Council. They are also
eligible to participate in all the activities of STRIVE and the University
of Southern Maine. At STRIVE, many students participate in STRIVE Nights
every Friday, plan programs as members of the STRIVE Advisory Board,
complete community service as part of the Aktion Club, or enjoy the
great outdoors as part of the Venture Club. USM has nearly 75 active
students group, with Circle K and performance groups among the most

"A day in the life" of a STRIVE U student:
STRIVE U students have busy schedules! Most work several days a week,
take classes almost every day, and are living on their own for the very
first time. In a typical day, someone might clean their apartment, go
to work for a few hours, return home to make dinner, and then go out
for a night on the town! On days that students do not work, they usually
take classes at USM (www.usm.maine.edu).

STRIVE
U Academic Calendar 2006-2007
STRIVE U classes and internships frequently occur during
breaks from the University of Southern Maine. Students are responsible
for securing their own vacation time from work and ensuring that they
do not miss required STRIVE U educational experiences.
